BETTING ON ZERO
The newly released documentary, “Betting on Zero,” is about a controversial hedge fund manager and harsh critic of Herbalife as a pyramid scheme.
It is about fraud allegations that Herbalife conned millions, especially low-income, and poorly educated people, out of millions of dollars.
Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review website, gave the documentary great ratings.
SYRIA MISSILE ATTACK
The headlines read: “UN Ambassador Nikki Haley Can’t Explain Trump’s Hypocrisy On Syrian Refugees”
Subheadlines: “The president’s supposed humanitarian concern doesn’t extend to Syrians displaced by their country’s civil war.”
Of course, she can’t explain it because it would underscore the hypocrisy of the Trump Administration. But it is quite simple. As soon as Trump’s racist supporters are in favor of allowing vetted victims of worn-torn Middle East countries to come into the United States, and there were political points to be gained, Trump will start making speeches at Ellis Island.
He will also see these victims, especially children, as photo ops.
In the case of bombing Syria, Trump stuck his political finger in the air and made a cold calculation that Tomahawk missiles would deflect attention from the Russian investigation and score big political points.
After all, millions of Americans love a fireworks display and red-white and blue chest thumping. That is patriotic.
That is until the flag-draped coffins start coming home with dead soldiers.
I go to the gym five days a week to workout.
My routine is get up at 5:45 a.m. to be at the gym by 6:30 a.m.
In January, a new trainer named Kal started an aerobics class with light weights at the gym. Steve, a friend of mine, took the class. I watched as I punched the body bag and jumped rope. Kal’s class looked brutal, and it was fast paced.
Steve suggested I try it. I said I would and stop as soon as it got really tough. I’d quit. The first day, I was going to leave in the middle of class but stuck it out. Sweat everywhere but a smile on my face.
I returned to the class.
Since mid-January, I participate in the 45-minute class three times a week, including the Saturday noon session, just missed two sessions.
I have never taken exercise classes offered at the gym. I am not into the group workout routine. But with Kal, his optimism and encouragement are infectious. He is always grinning and often before the class begins, Kal plays short motivation recordings from national trainers.
Since mid-January, I taken the 45-minute classes three times a week, including the Saturday noon session. It has been a great sense of accomplishment.
I mark my calendar each day I take the class. I plan to keep going until Kal stops holding the classes.
I want to fill up the 2017 calendar.
There is an article in the latest publication of Consumer Reports titled “Heart Health“ and it is excellent in summing a lot of information involving heart health.
Almost everyone knows that heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the U.S.
But few people probably don’t know this:
Heart attacks are deadlier in women. Twenty-six percent of women, 45 and older, die in the year after their first heart attack, compared to 19 percent of men, according to the American Heart Association.
This special report is also about diet and exercise, rating the nation’s top hospitals and screening tests you need and don’t need.
Also there is an excellent health published on my website from Consumer Reports: Who Really Needs Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Drugs.
